Classification criteria

There is no unified classification standard for epoxy resins. They are generally categorized by strength, heat resistance grade and properties. There are 16 main varieties, including general adhesive, structural adhesive, high temperature resistant adhesive, low temperature resistant adhesive, underwater and wet surface adhesive, conductive adhesive, optical adhesive, spot welding adhesive, epoxy resin film adhesive, foaming adhesive, strain adhesive, flexible material bonding adhesive, sealant, special adhesive, latent curing adhesive and construction adhesive.

There are several other classification methods for epoxy resin adhesives in the industry:

1. Classified by main composition: pure epoxy resin adhesives and modified epoxy resin adhesives

2. Classified by professional application: epoxy resin adhesives for machinery, construction, electronics, repair, transportation and marine use

3. Classified by construction conditions: room temperature curing adhesives, low temperature curing adhesives and other curing adhesives

4. Classified by packaging form: one-component, two-component and multi-component adhesives.

Other classifications include solvent-free, solvent-based and water-based adhesives. Classification by component is the most widely used.
